Hart’s art therapy clients include hospice patients, bereaved children, cancer survivors, troubled teenage girls, and others seeking to explore their own creative process for relaxation, healing and personal growth.Hart, who has always had an exceptional love for and interest in animals, won the grand prize in a New York city-wide poster contest for children, sponsored by the ASPCA. That was more than half a century ago! In the meantime, Hart has had the opportunity to nurture many pets, including a schnauzer, a Tibetan terrier, generations of Siamese cats, a Burmese python and several rescue horses.

As a painter of pets, Hart’s gift is in her uncanny ability to capture and convey the uniqueness of each animal she paints.

Process

Hart likes to begin with a favorite photograph of the portrait subject or a home visit in his or her own surroundings. The result is an original oil portrait, painted with highest quality European oil pigments on archival panels that can be framed and will last for generations.

Turnaround time is typically one month, but “rush jobs” are available at an additional fee. To arrange a visit please contact me.
